Our expert crew of bilingual local guides will introduce you to the most beautiful, tranquil villages and hamlets in the world-renowned wine region of Lucca. You’ll be treated to our very favourite local food at the most incredible trattorias, and finest restaurants in Tuscany. Experience the hidden gems of the region, including cellar tours of Italy’s famous Chianti Classico wineries, as well as Tuscany’s heralded white Marble Quarry in Massa Carrara. Day 1: Welcome to your Tuscan Country Oasis

Our crew will meet you at Pisa International Airport and accompany you to your Agriturismo in Bagni di Lucca. After some time to settle into your room, we enjoy a refreshing aperitif and toast to the fantastic week ahead. In the evening, we enjoy a traditional Tuscan dinner together. Day 2: Tour the Beauty of Florence

After a nourishing Italian breakfast, we’ll be ready for our first day – how exciting?! Today is all about the wonders and history of Florence. Just over an hour from our accommodation in Bagni di Lucca, the journey will be well worth it! We’ll visit all the must-see locations, including the Gates of Paradise at the San Giovanni Baptistery, the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore and the Palazzo Vecchio. What we love most about this day is undoubtedly the wonder of walking through and experiencing the city by foot. The 14th and 15th century buildings, the stunning view of the Arno River and the covered street markets are something to admire – even for us, each and every time we visit! After our day of adventure in Florence, we will return to our accommodation and unwind before heading out to dinner at one of our favourite local Tuscan trattorias. Meals included: Breakfast, Dinner

Day 3: Pisa and Wine

Today we head to another famous city on the banks of the Arno River – Pisa. Under an hour from our Agriturismo, Pisa’s allure remains in the wonderfully preserved four ‘Miracles’, built during the city's days as a prestigious Maritime Republic, between the 11th and 14th centuries. Throughout our day, we’ll take time to visit these four wonders – The Leaning Tower, the Cathedral, the Baptistery and the Monumental Cemetery. Not only do they provide amazing views of the city, but also represent the beauty of Pisa’s Romanesque architecture that influenced the style of buildings across the Mediterranean throughout that period of time. Before returning back to our accommodation, we’ll make a stop at one of the most famous wineries in the Lucca region to enjoy a tour and a wine tasting. We’ll be lucky enough to learn about their processes, as well as visit their incredible underground cellars. To finish off the day, we’ll have some time to relax before heading out to one of the many delicious traditional Tuscan trattorias! Meals included : Breakfast, Lunch and Wine Tasting, Dinner

Day 4: Explore the Wonders of Picturesque Lucca

After breakfast, we’ll head to Lucca to enjoy what is known to be one of the most beautiful towns in all of Italy. We will take in the sights on an in-depth guided tour that includes all of the town’s must see beauty. We’ll learn about the 4.2km wall encircling the old town, built through the 16th and 17th centuries to defend the city against an attack from Florence. We’ll visit Piazza Napoleone, dedicated to Napoleon by his sister, Elisa Baciocchi, Princess of Lucca, when she led the city. Not to mention the Roman Amphitheatre, Via Fillungo, Palazzo Pfanner and Guinigi Tower – it really is an amazing day to experience the beauty of our home, and the unique combination of Tuscan, Medieval and Romanesque Architecture. Following our tour, we’ll head back to enjoy some quality relaxation time at the Agriturismo. Meals included: Breakfast, Dinner

Day 5: Coastal Markets, Massa Carrara Marble Quarry and Fine Dining

After a traditional breakfast at our Agriturismo, we’ll make our way to one of the most famous markets in all of Tuscany – the Forte dei Marni Market. Located in a beautiful, well known seaside resort town, we’ll spend the morning strolling through the unique stalls and shops, filled with art, produce and amazing local specialties. We’ll drive up into the Alpi Apuane mountains for lunch in the stunning marble village of Colonnata and to try traditional lardo. From here, we’ll head to Massa Carrara, for a tour of the imposing white marble quarry in a 4x4 Jeep. A magnificent gem of Tuscany, this tour is always a hit! To finish the day, we’ll return to our accommodation to relax and get ready for a special dinner at one of the finest restaurants in Lucca. Meals included: Breakfast, Dinner

Day 6: Garfagnana, Cheese and the Castello delle Verrucole

After breakfast, we will venture north to the beautiful, wild area of Garfagnana. Starting the day with a visit to an authentic Tuscan dairy farm, where they produce some of the finest cheeses in Italy. Here we’ll enjoy a tour that teaches us the process for making and ageing cheese – and of course we’ll have an opportunity to enjoy some of the produce! From here, we’ll go to the Fortezza delle Verrucole – a Medieval fortress perched on a hilltop, with incredible panoramic views. The fortress itself has been partially restored, with great exhibits on Medieval life and culture, as well as food, medicine and warfare. To finish the day, we will return to our accommodation and unwind before heading out to dinner at one of our favourite local Tuscan Trattorias. Meals included: Breakfast, Cheese Tasting and Dinner

Day 7: Experience Tuscany on Foot!

Time to give your legs some rest – today we’re trading our bikes for walking shoes! Not far from Bagni di Lucca is Prato Fiorito, one of the most enchanting places in Tuscany. On its summit, rich in flowers and even rare herbs, it is possible to enjoy unparalleled views from the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines to the Apuan Alps and from Monte Pisano to the sea and the islands of the Tuscan Archipelago. Local folklore speaks of Prato Fiorito as a place where witches come, travelling up from the Devil’s Bridge. Our hike starts from San Cassiano di Controni where we will go up to the beautiful paths of Prato Fiorito through the Alta Via dei Pastori, used in the past by local shepherds to reach pastures, chestnut groves and woods located on the mountainside. After a peaceful walk on the paths of the Val di Lima we will enjoy a traditional Tuscan group lunch and a restful afternoon back at the Agriturismo. Meals included: Breakfast, Dinner Walking Distance: 13 km, elevation 800 metres

Day 8: A Day of Brilliant Food and Wine

Today is one of our favourite days – one that is totally dedicated to enjoying Tuscany’s incredible food and wine! After a relaxing breakfast at the Agriturismo, we’ll enjoy a traditional Lucchese cooking class, we’re we’ll learn how to cook some of Tuscany’s most famous traditional dishes. And what’s more? We’ll be sure to enjoy the spoils of our class at the end! From here, with our minds full of inspiration for cooking at home, we’ll move onto the wine portion of the day. We’ll visit a Tuscan winery and learn the whole winemaking process, from picking and fermentation to cellaring – and of course, it would be remiss of us not to taste the wine too! After the cooking class and wine tasting, we’ll return back to the Agriturismo to prepare for our dinner at a local Tuscan Trattoria. Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, Wine Tasting and Dinner

Day 9: How will you enjoy your final day?

We have reached the penultimate day of your holiday in Tuscany and not wanting to stress too much, it’s time for a day off. Today is about enjoying the day in whatever way you please. Whether it’s horseback riding, golf, cave exploration, a guided tour of Lucca, Florence or Pisa, a day at the natural hot spring spa, swimming in the cool water of the Lima river, or just relaxing by the pool - the choice is yours! Your local guide will be on hand to provide transportation and assistance with any arrangements. We will be sure to enjoy a final dinner together in our favourite Tuscan trattoria, marking the end of your experience and the many memories you will have made! Meals included: Breakfast, Dinner Activities: lunch and all activities during the day are self funded Cycling Distance: 0 km

Day 10: Time to say our goodbyes!

On our final morning, we’ll enjoy breakfast together and then it will be time to say our goodbyes. Our team will wish you a pleasant journey with the hope that you have had a wonderful experience in Tuscany! Meals included: Breakfast Drop-off: Pisa International Airport or Train Station
